Sunday, 21st February saw the social calendar at Larool kick off with the Family BBQ. The BBQ is an annual event, held at the Pre-school, to welcome new families as well as welcoming back some familiar faces. It also provides an opportunity for our Larool community to get to know each other.
A glorious day of sunshine helped to create a relaxing atmosphere for families to mingle and children to play and have fun. In addition to sandpit exploration and slippery dip sliding, Dosty the Clown entertained the children with balloon creations, magic tricks and other clown antics.
Our BBQ chefs, Michael Frith, Julien Manuel and Trevor Long displayed their culinary talents by expertly cooking 90 sausages, 70 rissoles, 24 corn on the cob and 4kg of onion. Everyone kicked back and enjoyed a delicious BBQ feast and platters of seasonal fruit, all organised by the Social Parents of Larool Activities Team, better known as SPLAT.
Michelle Healy, our Director, welcomed all families and Chris Fitzpatrick, the outgoing President of the Management Committee spoke about the community nature of our Pre-School. Jenny Robertson spoke on behalf of SPLAT to urge us all to “do something to help” during the year.
We gratefully acknowledge the generosity of following local businesses in supporting our BBQ: -
