Playdough
2 cups plain flour
4 Tablespoons Cream of tartar
1 cup salt
2 Tablespoons oil
2 cups boiling water
food colouring
Mix the first 3 ingredients together in a large bowl. Combine the boiling water and oil in a jug and pour over the dry ingredients. When it comes together into a dough ball, knead in whichever colour you wish. You can also add glitter, rolled oats, ice cream sprinkles etc to add extra colour and texture.
Threading - Coloured macaroni
To make your own coloured "beads" from pasta, put some raw macaroni into a cup or zip-loc bag. Add a few drops of food colouring and mix around until coloured. Spread out on a sheet of paper or a paper plate and let dry. They can then be made into a range of bracelets and necklaces - but keep it dry!

Kids just love boxes
Drop into Bunnings or Retravision and grab one of their used boxes. The kids will love to turn it into a car, spaceship, house, tunnel, snail-shell, "dump" and so the list goes on.
